Cousin Raymond was the 24th episode of Season 6 of Good Times, also the 133rd and final overall series episode. Written by actor Bill Duke and Walter Smith, the episode, which served as the final episode of the series which was aired, was directed by Gerren Keith; taped on February 22, 1979, it finally aired in syndication on January 30, 1980.
Florida's cousin Raymond visits bringing lavish gifts for everyone. But when Florida discovers how Raymond came into the money, she refuses to accept the three bedroom apartment he gives her.
- Guest star: Calvin Lockhart as Raymond Wilson, Florida's cousin.
The family is happy to see Florida's cousin Raymond, especially when he has nice gifts for everyone. He seems to have a lot of money to spend, and he offers Florida a new apartment for the family. Then she learns how he earns his money.
The Evans family is showered with expensive gifts when their cousin Raymond (Calvin Lockhart) pays a visit. The most lavish present is offered to Florida (Esther Rolle): a new, luxurious apartment. But when Florida learns that Raymond's wealth has come from gambling, she wants no part of his generosity.
Note: Originally slated to air during Good Times' sixth season, this is one of three episodes that were never telecast by CBS, though all have been included in the series' syndication package.
