Written as a teleplay by Richard Frieman and Sid Dorfman from an original story wrtitten by Frieman, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV, originally airing on October 19, 1977.

Synopsis[]

Willona's new job goes against her morals, but she decides to put her values on the back burner to earn spare money for Penny's ice skating lessons.

Storyline[]

Willona decides to make Penny happy by paying for her ice skating lessons. She takes an extra job at the store by watching women in the changing rooms through two-way mirrors to catch shoplifters; but her new job leads to a debate over the invasion of shoppers' privacy.

Plot summary[]

After catching a shoplifter, Willona (Ja'net DuBois) is promoted to store detective. When she finds out that her job entails spying on shoppers from behind a two-way dressing room mirror, she balks, insisting that her strict moral values precludes invading anyone's privacy. On the other hand, Willona really needs the extra cash to finance Penny's figure-skating lessons.
