Florida's Favorite Passenger: Part 2 is the fifteenth episode of Season 6 of Good Times, and also the 124th series episode overall, also the conclusion of a two-episode story arc. Written by Michael G. Moye, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV; it originally aired on May 30, 1979.
Florida realizes that a young boy on her school bus has difficulty hearing.
Florida tries to get Larry's mother to realize her son has a hearing loss. After Larry does not hear a warning, he almost falls down an elevator. Larry's mother finally realizes he has a problem. Florida takes the boy to the doctors.
In the conclusion of a two-part story, it takes a near-tragedy for Florida (Esther Rolle) to convince the mother of Larry Baker (Derek Wells) that her son is suffering from a hearing loss. Unable to accompany Larry to the local clinic for a check-up, Mrs. Baker (Bebe Drake) prevails upon Florida to do so. Unfortunately, Larry takes his mom's absence as "proof" that she doesn't care about him -- so he begins making plans to run away from home. (Jimmie Walker [J.J.] does not appear in this episode).
