Synopsis[]
James is against borrowing money from Florida's cousin. When he walks out in a fit of rage, Florida discovers some disappointing news about her cousin.
Storyline[]
Florida is happy when her cousin visits. Edgar is doing well in life, and Florida plans on asking him for money to help with the bills. James refuses to accept his money. When Florida asks for money, she is surprised by Edgar's answer.
Plot summary[]
Once again, the unemployed James (John Amos) is strapped for cash. Though he needs money in a hurry, the headstrong James is outraged at the prospect of borrowing it from Florida's wealthy cousin Edgar (Percy Rodriguez). As James nurses his ego at the corner bar, Florida (Esther Rolle) learns a few unpleasant truths about her cousin -- mainly, that Edgar is himself broke and out of work.
