J.J. and T.C. is the 18th episode of Season 6 of Good Times, and also the 127th series episode overall. Written as a teleplay by Mark Fink and Wayne Kline, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV; it originally aired on June 20, 1979.
Penny gets sick while Willona is out of town and Florida takes her to the free clinic. The out-of-touch doctor has difficulty relating to the people in the inner-city and threatens to leave in the midst of a neighborhood health crisis.
J.J. (Jimmie Walker) has always regarded landlord Bookman's assistant T.C. (Ronalda Douglas) to be "one of the guys." But despite her tomboyish behavior, T.C. has the same yearnings as any young girl, and she hopes against hope that J.J. will invite her to an upcoming dance. This little drama will not be resolved until an eye-opening incident in a neighborhood "singles" bar.
