Sex and the Evans Family is the sixth episode of Season 1 of Good Times, also the 6th overall series episode. Developed as a teleplay written by Norman Paul and Jack Elinson from an original story written by Donald L. Stewart, the episode, which was directed by Herbert Kenwith, premiered on CBS-TV, originally airing on March 15, 1974.

Synopsis[]

Florida thinks the dirty story she discovers in the house belongs to J.J. But she gets the shock of her life when she realizes it belongs to Thelma's new boyfriend.

Storyline[]

While cleaning the apartment, Florida finds a notebook titled "Sexual Behavior in the Ghetto" and thinks that its a sex manual. She then accuses J.J. of bringing it in the apartment and yells at him for doing so. J.J. denies it and when she shows it to James he has a totally different reaction and laughs it off thinking that it is J.J.'s way of learning about the birds and the bees. However, when James finds out that the book belongs to Thelma, he blows a gasket. Complicating things even more is the fact that she is dating a 21 year old college student.

Plot summary[]

Florida finds what she believes to be a dirty story called, "Sexual Behavior in the Ghetto". Assuming it to be J.J.'s, Florida confronts him, but she's in for a surprise when Thelma claims it and has an even bigger surprise when she learns it belongs to Thelma's latest boyfriend.
