Thelma's Brief Encounter is the tenth episode of Season 5 of Good Times and the ninety-fifth episode overall. Written by Bruce Kalish and Philp John Taylor, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV, first airing on December 7, 1977.
J.J., Michael, and Willona think that Thelma's new boyfriend is married. J.J. uncovers some shocking information.
Michael and J.J. are curious about the new mystery man that Thelma is dating. J.J. goes undercover and discovers that her boyfriend is on parole.
Thelma (BernNadette Stanis) is in love again: This time her beau is a fast-talking charmer named Lloyd Williams (James A. Watson Jr.). Inasmuch as Lloyd only agrees to see Thelma during their lunch hour, Willona (Ja'net DuBois) suspects that the man is married. Doing a bit of detective work, J.J. (Jimmie Walker) arrives at an even more shocking conclusion. Suffice to say that there's not only "another woman," but several other women.
