Willona, the Fuzz is the sixth episode of Season 5 of Good Times, and the 91st series episode overall. Written as a teleplay by Richard Frieman and Sid Dorfman from an original story wrtitten by Frieman, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV, originally airing on October 19, 1977.
Willona's new job goes against her morals, but she decides to put her values on the back burner to earn spare money for Penny's ice skating lessons.
After Penny calls her 'Momma' for the first time, Willona decides to make her happy by paying for her ice skating lessons. She takes an extra job at the store by watching women in the changing rooms through two-way mirrors to catch shoplifters; but her new job leads to a debate over the invasion of shoppers' privacy.
After catching a shoplifter, Willona (Ja'net DuBois) is promoted to store detective. When she finds out that her job entails spying on shoppers from behind a two-way dressing room mirror, she balks, insisting that her strict moral values precludes invading anyone's privacy. On the other hand, Willona really needs the extra cash to finance her figure-skating lessons.
